Upcoming Exhibition for Weekend in Norfolk!

As part of my kooky little town’s annual Weekend in Norfolk event, Norfolk Artists & Friends is having its annual exhibition. You can find out more about Weekend In Norfolk here. But briefly it’s a weekend long extravaganza of music, art, and nature, set in in this bucolic (and wacky) northwest Connecticut town. Nearly every business, organization, institution, (think museum, church, club, etc., not mental health…though we’re all probably eligible!) farm, forest (we have two with extensive educational programing,) artist and craftsperson participates in some way.

And, if you are not familiar with it, Norfolk Artists & Friends is a membership organization of professional artists living and working in and around Norfolk. Our members embrace a wide variety of visual arts, including, but not limited to, painting, drawing, printing, sculpture, photography, jewelry, and decorative arts.

There are 25 members showing this year so you are sure to find something of interest in the exhibition.

The opening is Friday, August 4, 2017 from 5-7:30 in the Battell Stoeckel Gallery at the Art Barn on the Stoeckel Estate (aka Yale Summer School) in Norfolk. The Gallery is open to the public August 4-6.

I’m showing new work from my SoundScapes series. Come and see and the title will make sense. These images are a bit of a stylistic departure for me but I’m really excited about the work. The one hint I’ll give is this…I’ve always thought that together with their reflection, trees on still water look like a visual representation of a sound file like you might find on a computer.

Hope to see you there. And if you aren’t in the area but know someone who might be interested, tell them! Oh and if you haven’t checked out my Instagram feed or business Facebook Page now would be a great time to do that. I update there more regularly than I do here and wouldn’t want you to miss anything.
